Thank you to all of you who signed my petition to continue to serve Nevada and the union on the first elected National Board of Directors for a new union, SAG-AFTRA.
Thank you who have voiced support, offered financial campaign assistance and supported the work I have done for all talent in Nevada over my years as a board of director for the Screen Actors Guild.
Among the things accomplished with your help...
Three attempts and finally success in merging into one strong, large and meaningful union for strong national contracts, planning into the future and meeting the core needs of the membership in contracts, work opportunities and safety and security on the set. Through solidarity there is strength. We have unified the membership, including celebrities, in all areas of the information and entertainment industries.
Three expansions of Nevada's Background Zone, now including the Strip, airport and most of urban Las Vegas. This included increase numbers on the set and pay.
The gaining of on-the-ground local representation not once, but twice. With unity with our brothers and sisters in other unions, and the financial long term health of the union, we will once again work to have a strong local executive.
A strong voice listened to among locals and in the national board room, including co-chairing national committees and fighting for easier on-line contracts to encourage local work and exposure through small producers, greater on-line communication, continued communication with all members and a voice for any and all Nevada members who come forth and volunteer to be a part of the national process.
Laying the foundation during the early years of a fight for film incentives and greater government interaction on the local and state level.
Work at the ground level on forming and creating the first ever new media and experimental contracts for a new generation of production and distribution.
Ground work for good things coming to Nevada that cannot be discussed publicaly but will help us all to increase our opportunities and work under contracts.
For all those who have believed in and supported me. Thank you.
I am asking that you tell others about my campaign and work to help me continue working for Las Vegas, Nevada and all our members.
Thank you;
Art Lynch
